What does it mean to be popular?
To be affiliated with a certain crowd?
Popular is a stereotype often used in school
Does popular mean you have to be known to be liked?
If so I wouldn’t know or want to know what it feels like to be popular
I may be rejected by the normal crowd, distant from them
But that doesn’t mean anything in the real world
I don’t need other people’s approval to feel special
God loves us all no matter our social rank
When we get to heaven we all will be equal
Sure, I don’t fit in, I stand out
Sure, I am not normal, I am different
But many people who were different did outstanding things
The Wright Brothers were probably told they didn’t fit in
Galileo was called insane, not genius
Rosa Parks was told off because of her skin
Some of the best leaders and role models were considered odd balls
Why do we pick on people that are less than us?
It’s not like any of that matters
Are humans so low that we need to feel better than everyone else?
People rejected Jesus, because he didn’t fit in
We as humans need to feel a sense of belonging
Fitting in means you are accepted into a certain group
We are categorized by who we hang out with
Not by our lifestyle, our beliefs, or values
From the outside looking in
We try our best to be considered popular
It's so typical to think about the way we are seen
They change who we are not worrying about who we want to be
Confidence, what does it really mean in our harsh world?
Why do we care about our image
when we should be worried about the inside
Our skin is only the cover
we may look beautiful with a heart of coal
God sees right through our coverups
God knows our true selves
So why does it matter what others think?
The REAL YOU should not care what they think
As long as The REAL YOU is comfortable in your own skin
Be who you want, not what others expect
BE The REAL You and let others see
BE THE REAL YOU AND THEY MAY TOO
